It’s “All Change” as the first Season of the Virtual British TCR Championship heads into it’s final few rounds. We have not one but TWO exciting announcements to co-inside with the iRacing December Build.
KNOCKHILL FINALE (SEASON EXTENDED)
The iconic Scottish racing circuit is finally making it’s way to iRacing next week and we figured it would be rude to run a series based on the BTCC without paying it a visit. We’ve made the decision to extend the championship, adding an extra round so that we end the season at Knockhill rather than Brands Hatch as planned.
Drivers will also all get an additional “drop week” (brining the total to 2 for the season). Meaning anyone that can’t make the Knockhill round due to scheduling issues won’t be at a disadvantage for the championship.
Round 9
Knockhill Racing Circuit
Race Date: 12/01/2022
Some highlights from this year’s BTCC to get you all excited.
MULTI CAR RACING
iRacing are also adding two new TCR cars to run alongside the Audi RS 3 LMS.
- Honda Civic Type R
- Hyundai Elantra N TC
With the series being extended, we have made the decision introduce Multi-Car Racing. Drivers can decide to swap to one of the two new cars for the remaining races of the season. Drivers will need to confirm this choice with Shane Dunn or Ryan Empringham in the Discord on or before Monday 13th of December. Once a driver or team has decided to switch manufacturer they will not be allowed to change back to the Audi.
Any drivers registering for race sessions in a car other than the one confirmed with the stewards after the above date will not score any points for that round.
We may need to introduce some BOP for the two new cars but we will be busy working on this as soon as we have them available to us and will confirm details ASAP.
After a fantastic season so far we’re very excited that for the first time in years iRacing has put some new TLC into the TCR Class.
