E Team HARD. Racing Joins The VBTCR Championship

Team HARD. are one of the most iconic names in British Motorsport and the BTCC. Now their e-sports division, E Team HARD. is officially on the grid of the VBTCR Championship.

Current Championship leader Ryan Elliott and his team mate Roman Paerschke (formerly Mad4Mini – Heusinkveld) will be representing the Maidstone based outfit for the final two rounds of the season.

When we launched VBTCR in the Summer of 2021 we wanted to create a place for touring car fans like myself to be able to go and get their elbows out and race on some of the UK’s most iconic virtual circuits. With the championship continuing to grow it’s great and we’re so excited to have such a recognisable name making it’s way onto the grid.” Shane Dunn VBTCR Co-Founder

Ryan Elliott was recently announced as a member of the Team HARD. Academy working with them to get a better understanding of how the team operates and is also hoping to compete in the The Mini Challenge.

Before anything I’m a massive motorsport fan and just love anything to do with cars. Being a part of the academy means I’m going to be around some pretty cool cars this year. Whether that be British Touring Cars, Porsches, Ginetta’s you name it… they’ve got it!” Ryan Elliott, E Team HARD.

Make sure you tune in to our Youtube Channel this Friday at 8PM BST to witness E Team HARD.’s first time out at Tsukuba.

VBTCR Championship Season 2 Launch

After the huge success of Season One, VBTCR is back for even more close, competitive racing.

We’re very excited to announce the Spring Sprint Season, a condensed schedule that’ll let the racing finish in time for a summer break.

Last time out we saw 10 different winners in a single season. And that’s one of the great things about VBTCR! To succeed in this championship you can’t just be the quickest driver. Reverse Grid races mean you also have to be patient and good at navigating through traffic. It also means that slower drivers have just as much chance of winning the title as long as they can be consistent and defend positions well.

Knockhill Finale & Multi-car Racing

It’s “All Change” as the first Season of the Virtual British TCR Championship heads into it’s final few rounds. We have not one but TWO exciting announcements to co-inside with the iRacing December Build.

KNOCKHILL FINALE (SEASON EXTENDED)

The iconic Scottish racing circuit is finally making it’s way to iRacing next week and we figured it would be rude to run a series based on the BTCC without paying it a visit. We’ve made the decision to extend the championship, adding an extra round so that we end the season at Knockhill rather than Brands Hatch as planned.

Drivers will also all get an additional “drop week” (brining the total to 2 for the season). Meaning anyone that can’t make the Knockhill round due to scheduling issues won’t be at a disadvantage for the championship.

Round 9

Knockhill Racing Circuit

Race Date: 12/01/2022

Some highlights from this year’s BTCC to get you all excited.

MULTI CAR RACING

iRacing are also adding two new TCR cars to run alongside the Audi RS 3 LMS.

  • Honda Civic Type R
  •  Hyundai Elantra N TC

With the series being extended, we have made the decision introduce Multi-Car Racing. Drivers can decide to swap to one of the two new cars for the remaining races of the season. Drivers will need to confirm this choice with Shane Dunn or Ryan Empringham in the Discord on or before Monday 13th of December. Once a driver or team has decided to switch manufacturer they will not be allowed to change back to the Audi.

Any drivers registering for race sessions in a car other than the one confirmed with the stewards after the above date will not score any points for that round.

We may need to introduce some BOP for the two new cars but we will be busy working on this as soon as we have them available to us and will confirm details ASAP.

After a fantastic season so far we’re very excited that for the first time in years iRacing has put some new TLC into the TCR Class.

Jack Werrell Commentary Joins VBTCR

We’re very excited to announce that Jack Werrell will be providing his fantastic commentary services for the Virtual British TCR Championship. Our first race broadcast will be released at 8PM (UK Time) on the 29th of September. It’s great to have someone as talented at Jack in the comms booth for what is set to be a thrilling season from start to finish.

Some Words From Jack...

“Having nearly being born at a DTM meeting at Donington Park in 2002, it was inevitable that motorsport would be running through my veins. Both my grandparents were heavily involved in motorsport, and my dad being an international motorsport commentator, therefore, it only felt right to fall into the mould and get involved.

Back in April of 2020, I decided to give sim racing commentary a go. and since then it just spiralled into a hobby I love. I’ve started to build up a respectable portfolio of commentaries with various British and international sim series. Most notably the Virtual BELCAR Series and The Porsche Club GB Sim Racing Championship. I can owe all of these opportunities to SImracersworld and Ian Roots who trusted me to take the reins behind the mic.

I’m slowly breaking into the real-life commentary and I’m currently working forward to hopefully follow in my father’s footsteps to enable me to travel the world and commentate on elite levels of motorsport.

When the opportunity arose at VBTCR I jumped onto it, as the Audi RS 3 TCR on iRacing is famed for its extraordinary attraction to close racing. With a full grid and a range of teams, drivers and experiences filling the paddock, theirs no doubt that season 1 will bring some brilliant action, that will bloom into seasons to come.”
